Starting next to the Mondego river, we visit the baixa de Coimbra, the Santa Cruz church and D. Afonso Henriques tomb (1st king of Portugal). We went up the Sereia Garden, to Penedo da Saudade, to the botanical garden and to the University. We return to the center of Coimbra via the quebra-costas and pass through the Almedina arch towards the city park and the Pedro and Inês pedestrian bridge. On the other side we pass by Quinta das Lágrimas and go up to Santa Clara monastery, down to S. Francisco convent, by Portugal dos pequenitos and we end this tour at the Santa Clara a Velha monastery with a toast of honor. |
