| We begin the central Portuguese way in Valença, crossing the Minho river to Tui, in Spain. We continue through Porriño to Redondela, seeing the Vigo estuary with the Rande bridge and S. Simón island. We passed through Árcade and PonteSampaio and, after the "senda fluvial do rio Gafos" we arrived in Pontevedra, the city of the church of the Pilgrim Virgin. The Barosa waterfalls and Caldas de Reis with the thermal baths and the Roman bridge precede Pontecesures, the Ulla river and Padrón, where the boat with the apostle's body ended its journey. We left through Iria Flavia and passing by the church of Escalvitud and Teo we arrived at Milladoiro. Soon we are in the Obradoiro square and next to the apostle Tiago and at the end of this walk but not of the "camiño". We still have one day to discover Santiago de Compostela. |
